The Shawnee County Christmas Bureau is an annual tradition that allows everyone in our community to make the holiday season brighter for our Shawnee County neighbors in need. United Way of Kaw Valley and other community partners connect thousands of individuals and families to a holiday meal and gifts by matching them with agencies or community “adopters.”

West Side Baptist Church partners with local community service agency – Doorstep, Inc. – to help our neighbors and community with basic needs like food, water, baby supplies, children’s clothes, addiction recovery, emotional support, utility assistance, and more in the Capital City and area!

Help to keep kids warm at
Meadows Elementary and Lowman Hill Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas
We are collecting children’s warm clothes, like:
SOCKS, STOCKING CAPS, AND GLOVES for our neighbors and kids at Lowman Hill Elementary and Meadows Elementary (Topeka Public Schools 501).

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
LOWMAN HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FAMILIES
This year, our Thanksgiving Offering will help provide Holiday Food Boxes for Children at Lowman Hill Elementary and Meadows Elementary Schools (Topeka Public Schools USD 501). Through our local mission partners, these boxes will be distributed with care via Midtown Community Services, helping families in our community enjoy a joyful holiday season.

We are showing our gratitude for our blessings by collecting:
- 40 Boxes of Macaroni and Cheese
- 20 Cans of Sweet Potatoes
- 20 Cooking Bags
- Cash Donations to purchase forty frozen chickens
In addition, we will purchase potatoes, canned goods, holiday trimmings, and more to complete each festive meal box. You can give online or make your gift during Worship. Your generosity ensures children and families in our community can celebrate Thanksgiving with warmth and abundance.
STUFF DOORSTEP Inc. with BOXES OF STUFFING
We’re trying to collect 100+ Boxes of Stuffing mix for our local partner, Doorstep Inc. Your donation of $1.00 buys 1 box of stuffing will be added in the Holiday Boxes shared with over 800+ individuals in families needing help this holy season. Bring your donations to the Sanctuary and place in the Large Blue Barrel OR GIVE ONLINE.

FOOD FOR HUNGRY CHILDREN
Help us bring joy and nourishment to Meadows Elementary families this holiday season! We’re collecting donations to provide 20 holiday meats (turkeys, chickens, or hams), 40 cans of tuna, and other essential food items for students and their families in need.
