Lightening or an electrical surge has disrupted power to the Sanctuary air-conditioning unit, as well as burned out several critical components. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the church building did not sustain any significant damage! The Church Council had a special meeting on Friday afternoon to approve emergency repairs to the electrical system and the a.c. unit, pending an insurance claim.
The Property Committee anticipants that an electrician will arrive at the church on Tuesday to assess and repair the damaged electrical system. Then, our Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) repair company will be able to order, repair, and replace the necessary parts to restore the Sanctuary air-conditioning. This may take a couple of weeks.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Worship and I will be hosting simple worship services in Holmer Hall where the air-conditioning is currently working. Please join us at 10:30 am on Sundays!
The Church Council will be investigating the replacement costs and lead time for a new a.c. unit for the Sanctuary. More information will be available at the Quarterly Business Meeting on Sunday, August 14 at 12:00 pm. Donations toward the new A.C. unit will be appreciated!
Thank you to our dedicated church leaders and staff who worked diligently to address this emergency, while sustaining the ongoing worship of Almighty God!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Sabbath blessings,
Pastor Ivan+
