We are so excited to be sending two young adults to Urbana 25!
It is InterVarsity’s triennial student missions conference — a transformational gathering for young adults to connect with God, global Christians, and their calling in world mission.
December 28, 2025 – January 1, 2026
Phoenix, Arizona
The Urbana conference is primarily designed for 17‑ to 28‑year-olds and their leaders. It has a rich legacy of mobilizing generations into global missions — equipping attendees through worship, Bible study, seminars, and leadership coaching to discern how God is calling them to serve.
Pastor Ivan and Rexanne attended Urbana ’95 (thirty years ago). Now, their daughter is going to Urbana ’25 – Praise the Lord!
Why Are We Sending These Two Young Adults?
FAITH FORMATION & DISCIPLESHIP: Urbana offers a space for deep spiritual growth. Through powerful plenary sessions, small-group Bible studies, and one-on-one coaching, our young adults will be challenged and strengthened in their faith.
GLOBAL VISION & MISSION EXPOSURE: This conference provides tangible encounters with global Christianity. Participants hear from international leaders, missionaries, and churches, gaining a firsthand perspective on what God is doing across cultures.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Urbana isn’t just a conference — it’s a training ground. There are leadership tracks (like LeadXperience) for young adults who want to grow as leaders in mission and community.
LONG-TERM INVESTMENT IN THE CHURCH’S FUTURE: By sending these two young adults, we are investing in the next generation of Christian leaders and missionaries. Their experience at Urbana will ripple into our congregation and beyond.
How Are We Supporting Our Urbana Mission Team?
SENDING: These young adults were carefully chosen for their character, commitment, and potential impact in our faith community.
FUNDING: West Side Baptist Church is covering registration and related costs as part of our mission‑development strategy.
- REGISTRATION: Early bird individual registration rate was $279.00 per person.
- AIRFARE: Round-trip tickets are roughly $600.00 each.
- FOOD: Meals and incidental expenses (M&IE) per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee – they’ll need it): $86.00 per day ($430.00 each).
- HOUSING: Hotel rooms are $125.00 per night, for five nights ($625.00)
- MATERIALS: Books, print materials, T-shirts, etc.
TOTAL COST: $3,000.00
PRAYING: Pray for spiritual insight, safety in travel, and openness to God’s call in their lives.
ENGAGING: Upon their return, they will share what they’ve learned — in a worship service, small group, or church newsletter — to help others catch the vision for mission.

Sending these two young adults to Urbana 25 is more than a trip — it’s a mission investment. We believe this experience will deepen their faith, expand their vision for global mission, and give them tools to lead in God’s work.
