At West Side Baptist Church, we want every child to know they are loved, welcomed, safe, and part of God’s family. Our Sunday programs give children opportunities to learn about Jesus, worship, make friends, ask questions, and grow in faith—all at an age-appropriate level.
Whether your child is a newborn or heading into 6th grade, there’s a place for them at West Side!

NURSERY CARE
Newborns through Age 3
Sundays • 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
Wednesdays • 5:45–7:15 PM
Our nursery is a welcoming, safe place where little ones can play, explore, and experience the love of God’s people while parents participate in worship and ministry.
Qualified and trained child-care workers lovingly care for our youngest children and help them begin experiencing church as a place where they belong.
They are LOVED!

Free Breakfast Served Weekly
Sunday School is a time for kids to learn, explore, ask questions, and have fun as they discover God’s story and learn about Jesus.
Our kid-friendly Bible classes are designed for different ages and learning levels. Children encounter Bible stories, music, instruments, games, crafts, and other activities led by loving teachers and trained volunteers. We want every child to learn at their own pace while discovering that the Bible is their story, too.

SUNDAY WORSHIP & ENRICHMENT
KIDS ACTIVITY BAGS
Worship is for everyone—including kids! Our Kids Worship Activity Bags are designed to help children participate in worship while having fun and staying engaged.
Each bag includes a kids’ bulletin, coloring pages, colored pencils, books, and other age-appropriate activities to encourage children to listen, learn, create, and explore during worship. Kids can take home their artwork and activity pages (please leave the bags so we can refill and restock them).

Kids Are the Church of Today and Tomorrow!
During Sunday worship, children of all ages—and kids at heart—are invited to come to the front of the sanctuary for a special Children’s Sermon with Pastor Ivan or a lay leader.
Using a simple object, story, or illustration, we explore a big truth from God’s Word in a way kids can understand.
And we’re serious about one thing: Kids belong in worship!
Sometimes they’re quiet. Sometimes they’re curious. Sometimes they’re loud, messy, and wild!
That’s okay. We Love Having Children in Worship – They’re part of our Family.
⛪ CHILDREN’S CHURCH ⛪
Preschool through 3rd Grade
After the Children’s Sermon, children from Preschool through 3rd Grade may be dismissed to Children’s Church with trained leaders (September – May).
Children experience a child-friendly time of worship, Bible learning, and activities designed especially for them. It’s an opportunity to learn about God and worship together in ways that fit their age and stage of development. At the conclusion of worship, children return to the sanctuary and meet their parents before the benediction.
We Want Kids in Worship! Children’s Church isn’t about sending kids away from church. It’s about helping children experience worship while also giving them opportunities to participate at their own level.

SAFE CHURCH/SAFE CHILD TRAINING
“Because Every Child Deserves a Safe Place to Grow.”
ALL ADULTS (18+) working in direct contact with our children and youth are required to (1) complete a Background Check, (2) complete a 6-month Waiting Period to Volunteer, and (3) attend a Safe Church/Safe Child Training. The Background Check, Wait Period, and Training are REQUIRED (non-negotiable) even if you have had previous checks or completed this requirement for your employer. The training and background check are free.
