We at West Side Baptist Church (hereafter, the Church), we are committed to providing a positive and uplifting online experience for our community, members, guests and visitors, and those seeking spiritual guidance.

Our website serves as an extension of our physical congregation, promoting the values and principles that define our Christian faith. To ensure a harmonious online environment, we have established the following policy guidelines:

PURPOSE AND MISSION: The primary purpose of our website is to share information about our church, foster a sense of community, and provide resources for spiritual growth and worship. We strive to uphold our mission to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ message of love, compassion, and faith through our online presence.

CONTENT GUIDELINES: All content on the website will align with the teachings and values of the Church. We will prioritize content that promotes understanding, tolerance, and inclusivity, avoiding any material that may be divisive or offensive. Report offensive materials to the Minister or Church Office at (785) 233-4241.

PRIVACY AND SECURITY: We are committed to protecting the privacy of our members, guests and visitors, and website users. Any personal information collected will be handled in accordance with our privacy policy. The Church does not share private information with persons, agencies, or groups outside the congregation without written permission, or when required by the law. Users are encouraged to be cautious about sharing personal information online and should be aware of our data protection practices.

COMMUNITY INTERACTION: Our website may include interactive features such as forums, comments, forms, or social media links to encourage positive engagement within our community. Users are expected to communicate respectfully, avoiding any language or behavior that goes against the principles of the Church.

WIRELESS INTERNET
ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

TERMS & CONDITIONS: By accessing or using the wireless internet connection provided by West Side Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas (hereafter, “the Church”), the USER AGREES to comply with and be bound by the TERMS AND CONDITIONS of this policy. It is the responsibility of each user to review and understand these terms and conditions, the limit of liability, the Church’s right to monitor and restrict access, and to seek clarification or assistance from the Designated Network Manager if needed.  

APPROPRIATE USE: Users must refrain from viewing, transmitting, or distributing any material that is inconsistent with the mission and values of the Church. The network may not be used for:

  • Accessing or distributing obscene, indecent, or otherwise inappropriate content;
  • Downloading or sharing pirated or copyrighted material without authorization;
  • Engaging in spam, cyberbullying, or other illegal or harmful activities;
  • Gambling, solicitation, or fundraising for political candidates or issues;
  • Participating in, promoting, or facilitating human trafficking or the exploitation of any person;  
  • Promoting or endorsing political candidates or partisan causes; or
  • Participating in any activity not permitted by organizations exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended, or regulations issued thereunder.

SUPERVISION OF MINORS: Minors may use the wireless network only under the direct supervision of a responsible adult.  

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: This is a PUBLIC, UNSECURE NETWORK. Use of the Church’s wireless internet network is at the user’s own risk. The Church assumes no responsibility and shall not be held liable for any loss of data, unauthorized access, security breaches, theft, or damage to personal equipment, devices, or software resulting from the use of this network. The Church strongly recommend that the user run up-to-date anti-virus and firewall software on his/her wireless devices while using this network.

RIGHT TO MONITOR and RESTRICT ACCESS: The Church reserves the right to monitor activity on its wireless network to ensure compliance with this policy and applicable laws. The Church may suspend or revoke any user’s access to the network at any time, without prior notice, for any reason deemed necessary to protect the integrity, security, or mission of the Church.  

POLICY AMENDMENTS: This policy may be amended at any time by the Church Council without prior notice. Users are responsible for reviewing and adhering to the most current version of the policy. UPDATED: 10/18/2025.
