Quilling art, also known as paper quilling or paper filigree, is a decorative art form that involves rolling, shaping, and gluing thin strips of paper into intricate designs. These designs are then arranged to create patterns, pictures, or ornamental decorations.

🌀 Basic Techniques in Quilling:

  • Rolling: Paper strips are wound into tight or loose coils using a quilling tool or a slotted needle.
  • Shaping: The coils are pinched, curved, or shaped into forms like teardrops, marquises, scrolls, and more.
  • Gluing: The shaped coils are glued together or onto a surface to form a complete design.

  • Quilling paper (usually 1/8″ wide, but sizes vary)
  • Slotted quilling tool or needle tool
  • Tweezers
  • Glue (quick-dry PVA or tacky glue)
  • Quilling board (to help shape and size coils)
