Worship

9:00 AM SUNDAY SCHOOL – A weekly small group Bible study experience for all ages (Preschool thru Senior Adults).  Children learn in fun, age-appropriate classes while adults chose their particular study based upon their interest.  This fall, two adult classes are being offered:

  1. Archeology and the Bible – A video-based curriculum which uses scientific discovery and research as it applies to Biblical knowledge and historical studies.
  2. Explore the Bible – A book-by-book group Bible study that encourages participants to let the Word dwell in them and challenges them to live it out in their own context.  The fall study will focus on the biblical books of 1 Peter, 2 Peter, and Jude.

10:30 AM WORSHIP –The worship service is a casual service which weaves together historical elements of worship with various styles of music (e.g., classic hymns, top 100 contemporary songs, gospel songs, and spirituals) to create a service where people feel rooted in the Biblical story, connected to God and others, inspired by relevant teachings, and authentic in their faith and practice.  Worship leaders draw together elements from ancient biblical worship, the Reformed tradition  – particularly the Protestant Reformation and Evangelical Renewal Movement – in an atmosphere of casual dress and relaxed customs.   We affirm the Bible as the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

HOLY COMMUNION – West Side Baptist Church celebrates open Communion (the Lord’s Supper) on the first Sunday of each month and other holy days. All baptized Christians are welcome to partake of the elements regardless of age, church membership, denominational affiliation or church tradition.
